The Court administrators are now taking applications from offenders (or their solicitors) for the next Court hearing which is on Saturday, July 31st, Noon - 6pm (latest) in County Durham.

Confirmed Court Officials to date are as follows:

Madam Rattan
Miss Torment (Chair of the Bench)
Miss Markwell

Further Court Officials will be announced as confirmations arrive.

Sounds interesting but not sure whats involved. Can a defendent defend themselves and could they be 'let off' if they put up a good case? Is there any chance that a defendent could ask for clemancy or get a lighter sentence?

Yes a defendant can certainly defend themselves and, in theory, it could be possible they may 'get themselves off' i.e a not guilty verdict, in fact that did happen at one of the courts on one of the offences.......

The punishments are tailored to the experience of the defendant. Cemancy has not yet been requested but its always an option.

All limits are noted and taken into consideration when the punishments are issued and carried out, a red bottom is likely.

All the miscreants will be brought to book.


Must check if there have been any legislative changes.

And as the cell is now complete, all of those found in contempt will find themselves gracing it's walls.

I believe the court is full now, so many offenders......so little time......

Perhaps if you would like to memo me I can keep you appraised should there be a last minute 'run for freedom'......yes it has been known and one or two of the offences are breach of bail conditions!

I'm newly joined last week and would like to see the results of last Fridays court proceedings(Visually if possible); perhaps the court reporter should be called to account? I look forward to perhaps appearing before their worships at the next sessions with regard to my driving habits.
Incidentally, I'm based in West Yorkshire and would welcome contact from any assertive ladies who could make use of me; I'm 60, university educated, all own hair, teeth etc,comfortably semi-retired and so readily available[/b].

Unfortunately visual evidence of the hearing (apart from if you class the written form) is not available, we have not got around to filming it! and doubt we ever would, anonymity is preserved and embarrasment avoided, no spectators alowed unless they are part of the proceedings, but JustinStripes is going to write something up tonight and follow it on with a full report at the weekend.
